🐾 Advanced Diagnostics: Clear Answers for Better Care
Cats are masters of disguise—especially when it comes to hiding illness. At Allentown Cat Clinic, our advanced diagnostic tools help us detect problems early, so we can intervene quickly and give your cat the best possible outcome.
🐾 Why Diagnostics Matter
- Catch Issues Early – Many diseases show no signs until they’re advanced. Diagnostics help us get ahead of the curve.
- Targeted Treatment Plans – Accurate data means less guesswork and more effective care.
- Less Stress for Your Cat – Fast, gentle testing designed just for felines.
- Personalized Health Planning – Everything from diets to medications starts with solid information.
- Peace of Mind – Know what’s going on and what to expect—so you can make confident decisions.
🐾 Uncovering What Your Cat Can’t Tell Us
We use a combination of in-house and external diagnostics to provide the most accurate information—quickly when it matters, thoroughly when it counts.
- Comprehensive bloodwork – For urgent cases, we run in-house tests to get fast answers. For routine or in-depth evaluation, we send blood samples to a trusted external lab to access a wider array of information at a lower cost to you. Our most comprehensive panels include:
🐾 Cardiac Enzyme Test – Helps detect early signs of heart disease, often before symptoms appear, giving us a chance to act early.
🐾 Thyroid Testing – Screens for hyperthyroidism, a common cause of weight loss in cats—especially seniors.
🐾 Blood Chemistry – Assesses organ function (kidneys, liver, pancreas), electrolyte levels, and includes diabetes screening.
🐾 Complete Blood Count (CBC) – Evaluates red and white blood cells for signs of infection, anemia, hydration, clotting, and immune function.
- Digital X-rays – Performed in-house with advanced digital technology to assess bones, joints, lungs, and internal organs.
- Urinalysis – Completed in-house to detect infections, kidney concerns, or other issues affecting urinary health.
- Stool analysis – Sent to an outside lab to check for intestinal parasites and other abnormalities.
- Cytology and biopsies – Samples are sent to a veterinary pathology lab for expert review and diagnosis.
